Connecting the present, past and future

The Besiendershuis is one of the iconic landmarks of Nijmegen. In 2025, the building will have been there for 500 years; rooted in history, focused on the future, and always responding to the ever-changing city. Besiendershuis is a house of imagination: we offer artists, musicians, journalists and scientists space to give a face to the wealth of stories that are connected to the city of Nijmegen, for example in the form of long-term residencies.

New perspectives
Our projects give a face to people from the city, and bring to the surface stories that would otherwise not be heard. Stories of real people from Nijmegen are translated into all kinds of artistic, literary, journalistic, scientific or musical productions. With our projects, we provide new perspectives on the city from our historical location, and make them accessible to a wide audience.
